The former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is set to become the German national team’s head coach. After Hansi Flick, the German head coach was sacked on September 10, there has been a lot of speculation about who is going to take the vacant position. One of the candidates for the job is 36-year-old German manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann is set to take the job of the new head coach of Germany until Euro 2024. Germany has struggled to make an impact in international soccer since they last won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017. They are going to hope that Nagelsmann can come in and change their fortunes.

The former German national team head coach, Hansi Flick, was not able to improve the team as a whole. Germany found it difficult to perform on the biggest stages. In the World Cup of 2022, they were so poor that they did not even qualify for the Round of 16.
The end of Hansi Flick as head coach came when his side lost 4-1 in the friendly against Japan on Sunday, September 10. It was at that time that the German FA decided that it was time to sack Hansi Flick. And they went on the search to find a good replacement for the national side.

Having lost 3 matches in a row, it was inevitable that Flick was going to be sacked. Even though he had led Bayern Munich to great heights at the club level. He was not able to do the same with the German national team on an international level.
Julian Nagelsmann Salary as the new German national team Head Coach
Julian Nagelsmann has been out of work since he was sacked by Bayern Munich last season. But, he had been under contract at Bayern, despite not being the manager. This meant that the club could demand a fee from any side willing to take him on. But, that contract has now been terminated by the German Titans.
Now, the young Nagelsmann, regarded as one of the best managers in Europe, is set to take on the job as the new German national team head coach. But the big news that has come up from the German outlet BILD says that Nagelsmann has let go of around $21 million in wages that he would have earned at Bayern until 2026. Moreover, the reason for the same is that he wants to take up the hot seat for the German national team.
“The #DFB reached an agreement in principle with Julian Nagelsmann, 36, to become new head coach of #Germany‘s men’s national team […]
For #Nagelsmann, taking over as #DFBTeam coach will mean a pay cut from being unemployed.”

Reportedly, Julian Nagelsmann will also be taking a pay cut to take up the job. He will be earning some $4.3m for working until the Euros of 2024. Once the contract is over, he will go back on the market. There is no clear indication in regards to his getting a permanent role on the national side.
It is going to be interesting to see if Nagelsmann can bring urgently needed change to the German national side. Whether he can get them to perform well in the Euros that Germany hosts in 2024 is something to watch out for.
