La Liga president Javier Tabas has enraged the fans with his insensitive comments on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The La Liga president spoke up about the controversial issue regarding Vinicius Jr.
The Real Madrid player was subjected to vile racist insults by the Valencia fans. During the match, Vinicius Jr received an immense amount of racist slurs from the Valencia fans and was visibly disturbed by it. The Brazilian player has been subjected to racist slurs in the past as well. Therefore, the matter has since become a controversial matter in the media.

President Tebas acknowledged the issue, however, made some insensitive comments which did not sit right with the soccer fans. He commented, “The great players like Ronaldo and Messi were the ones who received the most insults. For one it was homophobic insults and for the other, it was intellectual disability.
“Messi and Cristiano were the ones who received the most insults, now it’s Vinicius because he’s a great player.”
Soccer fans were not having any of it. The fans’ reactions to these comments were anything but positive. One fan wrote, “Why is he acting like abuse from fans is a flex.”

While another fan wrote, “Just making it worse for himself.”
The Real Madrid player spoke out on this matter on his social media platform after the match. Vinicius Jr shared his disappointment with the league and the countries. Furthermore, the player demanded actions and punishments for the racists.
Javier Tebas issues an apology to Vinicius Jr
The La Liga president was involved in a war of words with the Real Madrid player after the match. Tebas took to Twitter to attack the player in his post-match interview. He wrote, “Before criticizing and insulting La Liga, it is necessary that you inform yourself properly.
“Do not let yourself be manipulated and make sure you fully understand each other’s competencies and the work we have been doing together,”
Vinicius Jr responded with an appropriate answer, “Once again, instead of criticizing racists, the president of La Liga appears on social media to attack me. As much as you talk and pretend not to read, the image of your championship is shaken. See the responses to your posts and have a surprise.”
“Omitting yourself only makes you equal to racists. I’m not your friend to talk about racism. I want actions and punishments. Hashtag doesn’t move me.”
Javier Tebas has since then tried to save himself from the earth of the fans and hence has issued an apology. The president addressed the reporters at a press conference and explained the matter.
Tebas commented, “If I meet him, the first thing I’ll tell him is I’m sorry if I offended you but I didn’t want to accuse you. I’ll explain everything we do [to fight racism] all the time. I won’t explain our remits because that’s very complicated but I would tell him that I’m frustrated too.
