Many followers of the page began leaving messages of grief and sadness, while Twitter became abuzz with speculation of the hoax.
Many fans were initially doubtful of the report, due to the recent influx of false death announcements regarding famous people. Others noted that the story had not been reported on any major French networks, which would likely happen if a star like Kylian Mbappé had passed away.
On Wednesday (January 11), representatives for the Psg star put out a statement to confirm he is still alive. They told fans to be wary of rumors they see online and not to believe them. Some fans have expressed their anger at the false report, believing it was insensitive to those who care about the player. When will Kylian Mbappe return to PSG?
Kylian Mbappe has returned to training for Paris Saint–Germain earlier than expected after his break away. However, he was not involved against Angers in Ligue 1 on January 11. He is expected to join the team for the game against Rennes away on the 16th.
