The transfer saga of Kylian Mbappe has taken yet another twist. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Premier League. At the same time, Spanish giants Real Madrid aren’t ready to give up just yet. Kylian’s contract at Paris Saint Germain ends in 2024, with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi keen on extending the Frenchman’s stay.
However, a secret agreement between the player and the President could potentially deter foreign clubs’ hopes for Mbappe. According to the media outlet, 90min, Kylian Mbappe has promised Al-Khelaifi, that the club President would be the first person to be informed about his future. The upcoming international soccer tournaments could jeopardize any foreign move for Kylian. France is set to hoist the Summer Olympics in June 2024 while Germany will be the hoist for UEFA Euro 2024, a month earlier.
Kylian Mbappe wants to play in both tournaments. Olympic soccer is starting on July 24 and shall end on August 10. Reportedly, the 25-year-old’s potential contract extension at PSG until 2025 could allow him to play for France in the Olympics.
The report says that Real Madrid won’t be facilitating any such arrangements, which could endanger Kylian’s move to the Spanish capital. The 14-time UEFA Champions League winners aren’t willing to lose the Frenchman for as long as 3 months. The training camps, the tournaments, and the resting period would cover the months of June, July, and August.
‘Los Blancos’ consider this period crucial for Kylian Mbappe to jel with the squad. Real Madrid wants the Frenchman to adapt quickly to La Liga soccer, as the club prepares itself for a new era, starting from the 2024/25 season.
