The UEFA Champions League draw took place on March 17, 2023, and Erling Haaland will face his demons in Bayern Munich. Haaland’s club Manchester City has been drawn against the German Champions. The Norwegian has a miserable record against Bayern from his time at Borussia Dortmund. However, individually, he has been more than decent.
Fans did their research and found out about Haaland’s record. One fan commented, “Light work for Bayern.”

Pep Guardiola, manager of City, will be up against his former club just like Joao Cancelo, player of Bayern. The two have a history between them that is extremely recent. Cancelo and Guardiola had a fallout with each other that resulted in the loan transfer of the player to Bayern. Manchester City will host the first game of the tie in the second week of April.
Erling Haaland’s miserable record against Bayern Munich
Haaland has played seven matches against Bayern Munich. All from his days at Borussia Dortmund. Unfortunately, the Norwegian has lost all seven of those matches. However, individually, he has a more than decent record against the Bavarians. He has scored five goals and assisted once.
His latest match against Bayern was in the Bundesliga. Dortmund played the Bavarians on April 23, 2022. Haaland’s Dortmund lost the match 3-1.
Haaland never won a game against Bayern.

When it comes to City against Bayern, the odds are more tied. According to UEFA’s official website, six matches have been played between the clubs in the UEFA Champions League. Both have won three matches each. However, the German club trumps City when it comes to the Champions League titles. Bayern has won six, whereas, City is yet to win its maiden UCL title.
The UCL draw set up another blockbuster tie. Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid will face Graham Potter’s Chelsea. Madrid is fresh out of beating an English side in the round of 16. They went past Liverpool with ease after beating them 6-2 on aggregate. On the other hand, Chelsea went past Dortmund after defeating them 2-1 on aggregate. The other quarter-finals include an all-Italy clash in Napoli vs AC Milan and Inter Milan vs Benfica.
