Lionel Messi has finally apologized to PSG for his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. Messi‘s apology comes in the aftermath of a whirlwind of incidents, including PSG suspending him for two weeks. As a reaction to PSG’s decision and a very public protest staged by the PSG fans, Messi has finally addressed the issue. However, soccer fans have pointed out a strange detail in Lionel Messi’s apology video.
Just a few hours ago, Lionel Messi issued an apology video where he talked about why he went on the trip to Saudi Arabia. Messi explained, “Honestly, I thought we were going to have a day off after the game, as had been happening in previous weeks. I had this trip to Arabia organized and I couldn’t cancel it, I had already canceled it before.”

It was hard to not notice that only Messi’s bust was visible in the video. This has led to soccer fans speculating whether Messi filmed the video without any trousers. While the PSG star was wearing a coat, the lower portion of his body wasn’t visible. This has amassed hilarious reactions from fans, with one fan writing, “I’m 100% sure he is wearing boxers under.”

Currently, Lionel Messi’s future at PSG is hanging by a thread. It has already been reported that Messi has made up his mind to leave PSG in the coming transfer window. Although his next destination is not yet known, fans suspect Messi will be returning to FC Barcelona. If the Spanish club manages to clear its financial fair play restrictions, we might see Lionel Messi return to his boyhood club next season.
PSG coach was unaware of the decision to suspend Lionel Messi
PSG coach Christophe Galtier has finally talked about the club’s controversial decision to suspend Lionel Messi. According to ESPN, Galtier was not consulted by PSG in its decision to suspend Messi, and the club simply informed him. Galtier said, “I was informed by the board at the start of the week of the decision to suspend Messi. When I was informed, I had the responsibility of not commenting on it.“

He continued, “I’m employed by the club, and that is my role… The decision was nothing to do with me. I was informed of the decision.” The PSG coach also talked about the club’s recent run of poor performances and how Messi’s suspension will affect it. Galtier said, “Leo’s suspension has added to poor performances; we can’t hide behind that… I can’t say it has been a pleasant period.”
He finally concluded, “There’s a target to achieve; players are working hard. We are focused and committed.” In light of the PSG Ultras protesting outside Neymar Junior’s house, Galtier harshly criticized the fans’ behavior. He said, “Regarding the protests in front of a player’s home, we have to be careful with that. Private life must remain private.”
Alongside Messi and Neymar, Galtier is also under the gun for PSG’s poor performances. The former Lille manager has failed to lead the French club to its goal of winning the Champions League. Although Galtier’s side is in pole position to win Ligue 1, it probably won’t be enough for him to continue as PSG’s coach for the next season.
