Lionel Messi has made a habit to make headlines throughout his exceptional playing career. Being one of the best players on the planet definitely has its perks. Currently, though, Leo is having a contract situation with PSG, and there is a possibility of him leaving PSG. Phil Neville’s latest comments on the matter have just galvanized those talks of Messi leaving.
Last year Lionel Messi achieved his lifelong dream to win World Cup with Argentina with a terrific display throughout the tournament. He has been severely instrumental after his return to PSG after the World Cup break. The French giants are having a difficult run of form and Leo is leading them really well. However, PSG can have a huge blow, as they can lose the Argentine magician the next summer.
Very recently, a 95th-minute match-winning free-kick goal has helped PSG keep that 5-point advantage at the top of the Ligue 1 table. At this moment PSG is trying everything to convince the World Cup winner to stay with them.
But reportedly Messi has rejected an offer of a contract extension. Although, there were reports from the likes of Fabrizio Romano before the World Cup that PSG and Messi have a verbal agreement on a contract extension.

Messi’s itchy feet have attracted quite a few clubs around the world. Al-Hilal remains one of the most serious clubs to land Messi’s signature. His potential return to Barcelona looks like a far cry as there has been too much bitterness in between. MLS club Inter Miami is one of the most interesting options, that can change the landscape of soccer.
Phil Neville talks about the possibility of Lionel Messi going to the MLS
Fans around the world will most probably lean towards a fairytale ending Lionel Messi at Barcelona. However, recent events make them highly unlikely to actually materialize. The 7x Ballon d’Or winner will have a choice to make in June.

As we know Leo Messi’s move to Inter Miami remains an option. Regarding the fact that he has won everything in Europe and can have an unprecedented effect in a completely different league. Phil Neville, the manager of Inter Miami FC talked about Lionel Messi in a recent interview with The Athletic.
The Inter Miami manager said, “I think it goes bigger than Inter Miami. I think it’s in MLS. It’s big for the MLS. I think this would be probably the biggest signing ever in American sports,” talking about Messi’s possible transfer to his team.

Phil Neville added more to it. He said, “The trees might have to be bigger (around the training ground.) The security might have to be tighter. The walk that the players have today over to that stadium; that might have to be different. The travel might be different. The hotels we stay in might have to be different. But really, that might be what we’re aspiring to be like anyways. It’s exciting, but I think it’d be a massive challenge,” about the possible scenarios.
Lionel Messi will have a giant effect if he actually decides to join MLS this summer. His influence will change the American soccer scene once and for all. Only time will tell where Leo’s priorities lie.
