Argentina’s World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi has yet again shown how much he adores his fans but this time at a risk. Recently, he was mobbed by fans outside a restaurant in Buenos Aires. Messi had gone there to have dinner but fans found out the Argentine is there and gathered in flocks outside the restaurant.
When Messi finished his meal and came out he was shown immense love from fans who were all over him. Even though Messi took the frenzy in great spirits it was full of threats. He did not have enough security. He could have been crushed in the chaos. Luckily, none of that happened.
However, it has come to light that Messi was offered the chance to leave from the back door. This would have helped him escape the fan frenzy. But the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner was not going to disappoint his fans. He made sure he went out from the front and gave the fans what they wanted.
Argentine actor, Adrián Suar: “Yesterday, when we were in the restaurant, they offered Messi the possibility of leaving through the back door. However, Leo refused, saying: ‘No way, at least, I want to go out and say hello to all the people who are there.’ 🇦🇷 pic.twitter.com/eidxOGDcMd

The Paris Saint-Germain star was recently booed at the Parc des Princes for his poor performances in a PSG shirt. Messi wasted no time in Paris and traveled to Argentina for the upcoming international break. The love from the fans would have come as a welcome change for him.

The Argentina national soccer team will play two friendlies in the first international break of the year. The South Americans defeated France on penalties to claim the World Cup.

A performance anywhere close to what Messi pulled off in the World Cup would see him achieve another milestone. As of now, Messi has scored 799 career goals and 98 goals for Argentina.
Argentina plays Panama in Buenos Aires at the Estadio Monumental on Thursday, March 23, 2003. Messi will get a chance to show off the World Cup as captain, score his 800th career goal, and score 100 goals for his nation. Among active players, only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more career goals (828). Argentina will take on Curacao in the second friendly.
