Ever since Lionel Messi joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami, there have been various rumored reports of several other players from around the world joining him there. However, one such report about a current Real Madrid player hinted to be playing at Inter Miami has surfaced recently.
Inter Miami has been looking for a midfielder to make its midfield more competitive and world-class. They have been linked with several players in the previous transfer window. However, this recent name that they have been linked with might be the solution to their needs.
According to reports Lionel Messi has requested his MLS club Inter Miami to add La Liga’s Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric to their team. This request of his suggests that he is not satisfied with the current squad depth at Inter Miami.

Reports further suggest that the USA-based club is interested in landing the Croatian player. The club’s co-owner, David Beckham, is also determined to enable Modric to play with Argentina’s number ten in 2024.
Luka Modric currently plays for Real Madrid. The 38-year-old started playing for the La Liga giants in 2012. In his 495 appearances for the team, he has assisted over 75 goals. The Croatian has been a very important player for Real Madrid in the middle of the park. The midfielder has also scored over 35 goals for Real Madrid so far.
Modric debuted for the Croatian national team 17 years ago. He has played in over 165 matches for his country so far. The veteran has netted 24 goals on the international stage till now. He is also the captain of Croatia’s national team.

French forward Antoine Griezman stated that it’s one of his future plans to play in the MLS. When linked with a move to MLS, the player responded, “It’s a dream of mine, certainly an objective in the future”. Earlier, France’s number seven revealed that he’s keeping a close tab on Leo’s headway at Inter Miami. Griezmann currently plays for Atletico Madrid. His current contract at the club runs until June 2026.
Another player who has been reportedly linked with an MLS move is Benfica’s Angel Di Maria. Di Maria is Leo’s teammate from Argentina.
