The FIFA World Cup 2022 has started and it has proven to be worth all the hype so far. To the soccer world’s surprise, Saudi Arabia has provided us, viewers, with one of the biggest upsets in the tournament by defeating Lionel Messi-led Argentina. The game ended 2-1 for the Asian country. Messi scored from the spot before Saudi Arabia made a sensational comeback in the second half after a motivating speech from their manager.
According to various reports, the country’s players are receiving a Rolls Royce each for the historical win as well. On the other hand, things do not look so bright for Messi and Co. If he does not lead Argentina to a win against Mexico, the chances of the country making it past the group stages will be very low. Ahead of the do-or-die game tonight, Messi has chosen to wear something special on the pitch.

The PSG superstar will be wearing the latest model of his Adidas boots called the X Speedportal Leyenda. Adidas has chosen to recreate some of the factors from his first-ever appearance at the World Cup in 2006. This was done to celebrate Messi’s 5th World Cup this year. An interesting fact is that Adidas has kept the original elements from the boot Messi wore in 2006, the F30s.
How much are Lionel Messi’s World Cup Boots worth?
The boots are worth around $360 (£300). Adidas first launched the boots before the start of the World Cup. But it seems like Messi has added a special and personal element to the boots.

On the side of the boots, Messi has added the names of his two sons, Thiago and Mateo, together with their birthdates. Mateo was born on September 9th, 2015, and Thiago was born on November 2nd, 2011. It looks like Messi wants to be reminded of his sons every minute he spends on the pitch. Ultimately, he has claimed many times that the love he has for his family is greater than anything else.
Both Mateo and Thiago have rooted for their dad from the sidelines, and Leo wouldn’t want anything different this time around as well. He would need all the motivation from his family as he aims to lead Argentina past Mexico today. Can Lionel Messi help Argentina get past the group stages at the 2022 FIFA World Cup?
