Trucco compared all the national team coaches who have won the World Cup as well as the Continental Cup. Besides Scaloni, there was the former German coach Helmut Schon, who won the World Cup as a coach in 1974 and the UEFA Euros in 1972.

There was also the ex-Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque, who led Spain to the 2010 World Cup and the UEFA Euro 2012 win. In addition to this, there were two legendary former Brazilian coaches, Carlos Alberto Parreira and Mario Zagallo. Parreira, who won the 1994 World Cup and the 2004 Copa America, and Zagallo who won the 1970 World Cup and the 1997 Copa America.
It took Helmut Schon 22 years as a manager to win the World Cup as well as the Continental Cup. Del Bosque took 25 years, Carlos Parreira took 27 years, and Zagallo took 31 years to accomplish this feat. However, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni required only four years to achieve this feat and surpass some of the all-time great coaches.

He said that he was contemplating retiring from the national team.

Later, it was revealed that there had been some friction between the Argentina FA president, Chiqui Tapia, and Scaloni. However, the anxious moments have finally ended for the Argentine supporters. According to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, Scaloni is set to lead Argentina to Copa America in 2024. The 45-year-old’s contract with the Argentina national team is currently ending in 2026.
