According to reports, the Liverpool board has put up a “not for sale” label on their star forward Mohamed Salah to quash Al Ittihad’s hopes of bringing the Egyptian star to the desert shores. This news will give the Merseyside residents some respite, as Salah has been their most prolific performer on the frontline since his arrival from Roma.
As per the earlier reports, Al-Ittihad was interested in signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah just days before the transfer deadline day. However, as per The Athletic, the Reds have confirmed that their star player is still off the market.
The 31-year-old’s representative, Ramy Abbas, had also dismissed the transfer speculations earlier this month. The agent shared, “If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC.”

The Egyptian became one of the highest-paid players in the history of the Liverpool squad after his contract extension last summer. The new contract allows him to earn around $441,000 per week and will run until the summer of 2025.
It will be interesting to see if the Saudi club will persuade the Reds this summer despite their current stance regarding their player. However, given the huge transfer fee offered by the Saudi side, Liverpool could be tempted to part ways with the Egyptian this summer.
Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren reacts to Mohamed Salah transfer rumors
Former Reds player Dejan Lovren, who is also a close friend of Salah, has shared his opinion on the rumors of the potential move to the Saudi Pro League.
Popular social media account Transfer News Live shared about the Saudi club’s interest in the former Chelsea player. Moreover, Al-Ittihad is reportedly ready to offer him an eye-watering salary that will make him the highest-paid player in the Saudi League.
Lovren was quick to reply under the post as he shared a popular GIF whose caption featured ‘stop lying’. It is, therefore, safe to assume that the defender is not on board with the potential transfer rumors.

With 187 goals and 80 assists in 307 matches for the Reds, the player is considered one of the legends of the club. Salah has even helped the club win their first Premier League title in thirty years as well as their first UEFA Champions League since 2005.
Players like Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino have already departed from Liverpool to the Saudi Pro League this summer. Therefore adding Salah to the list of departed players might come as a huge loss to Klopp’s side.
Al-Ittihad‘s interest in signing another world-class player like Mohamed Salah just days before the British deadline day is not unfathomable as they have already signed players like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Roberto Firmino this summer.
