The Manchester United board has come under fire for their plan to welcome back Mason Greenwood to the club. As per reports, the staff members of the club are ashamed of the club’s decision regarding the player’s future at the club.
Manchester United refuted reports that they were taking any final decision on Mason Greenwood‘s potential return to the first team. Reports suggest that the club has held multiple emergency meetings to conclude the matter as soon as possible. However, many United members are not happy with the developments.
As per Athletic, some staff members of the English club are considering resigning from their positions if Manchester United decides to reintegrate Greenwood back into the first team. Furthermore, some staff members are reportedly exploring the option of calling a strike.

United fans, however, have shared mixed reactions to the news. One fan commented, “Shame? He was declared not guilty. Or is there some undisclosed aspect to this narrative?”
While another fan shared, “Strike? They’d just bring in someone to replace you.” Another fan echoed the same sentiments, writing, “If they want to leave they should their position will be filled within hours”.
On the other hand, some fans are still not ready to accept Mason Greenwood’s return to the team. Furthermore, they have even threatened to stop supporting the English club if they bring back the 21-year-old.
Manchester United’s plan for the return of Mason Greenwood
The club has to keep track of different variables before making a concrete decision on the potential return of Greenwood. Reportedly, Manchester United has revealed the club’s plan to reintroduce the English player to the squad.
The club’s spokesperson revealed to the Athletic, “Manchester United has planned for various potential scenarios in relation to the future of Mason Greenwood. The Athletic has leaked selective elements of one such scenario plan from several weeks ago”.
“This is a difficult and sensitive case. It is entirely proper that we have taken a careful and thorough approach to planning for the various potential outcomes, including how we would engage with stakeholders and explain the decision after it is made”.

They further added, “As previously stated, we are in the final stages of that process and will bring it to a conclusion as soon as possible”.
Reports claim that the plan also included extensive ongoing psychological and physical support for the player. Moreover, both club manager Erik ten Hag, and the club’s soccer director, John Murtough are reportedly on board with Mason Greenwood’s return to the squad.
