While the FIFA World Cup 2022 is over with Lionel Messi leading Argentina to its third World Cup title, fans are still not over the tournament. Recently, a video titled ‘No more Messi and Ronaldo’ went viral on Tiktok. In the video, the Tiktok user sang about how he missed the World Cup in the tune of Somali-Canadian K’naan’s world-famous FIFA song, ‘Wavin’ Flags’.

The TikTok user, who goes by the name @guitaronion, became viral during the FIFA World Cup 2022. He sang about different players and match results during the World Cup. All of his songs were sung to the tune of the famous soccer song Wavin’ Flag by K’naan. In his recent video, he sang about how much he misses the World Cup and all of the big soccer stars.

He further mentioned the empty stadiums in Qatar, which were filled to capacity just a few weeks ago. The user also mentioned how fans bid farewell to the World Cup after enjoying new memories. He also mentioned the GOAT debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, which many fans consider to be over after the PSG star lifted the trophy in Qatar.

Fans react to ‘No more Messi and Ronaldo’ video

The video has gone viral on social media platforms like Tiktok and Instagram. The video has garnered more than eight million views just on Tiktok. Naturally, the video has fetched a series of reactions from fans. The fans have appreciated the efforts of the user to compile World Cup-related news into songs.

One fan commented, “Can we respect the way he is doing so amazing songs for the World Cup and we didn’t qualify so this guy is a goat.” Another fan said, “best song I’ve heard.” One fan even went to the extent of saying, “This guy should do the World Cup song in 2026.”

There were even some fans who trolled the user who hails from Italy. The user sang all of the songs, wearing an Italian soccer jersey, although Italy failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. A fan commented, “your country didn’t qualify because of mine,” while another said, “What kit is that? I don’t remember seeing it in Qatar.“

No more Messi and Ronaldo: Lyrics

Here are the lyrics of the viral ‘No more Messi and Ronaldo’ song.

No more Messi and Ronaldo, There is no one in Qatar now

Empty stadiums are just left there, While we are full of new memories

Messi lifting the cup, War is over there is just one GOAT

Argentina time to celebrate, Do like Martinez and get ready to dance

Thank you to Kylian Mbappe, His brother Hakimi

Suarez and Modric, Neymar, Kim, Embolo, Bale

And also this guy, Embarassing like

The country of mine, Did not qualify

Who are soccer’s next big stars?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated the world of soccer for more than 15 years. Messi and Ronaldo first went head-to-head during the 2007 Ballon d’Or award, which was won by Brazilian legend Kaka. Ronaldo finished second while Messi finished third. From 2008 to 2017, the winner of the Ballon d’Or award, which is considered to be the highest individual prize in soccer, was either Messi or Ronaldo.

However, both Messi and Ronaldo have reached almost the end of their careers. Ronaldo, who is going to turn 38 next month, is currently playing in Saudi Arabia-based club Al-Nassr. Messi, 35, is still playing in Europe at the highest level for his club PSG. While the chapter of Messi and Ronaldo is slowly coming to an end, a new era has begun where new soccer stars have started to emerge.

While there are many great upcoming soccer stars, the two players who are considered to be the heirs to the throne of Messi and Ronaldo are none other than Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Both players are in their early twenties, but they have already racked up some incredible numbers. Mbappe, who is Messi’s teammate at PSG, has already won the World Cup with France in 2018.

Despite being just 24, Mbappe is already PSG’s all-time second-top-scorer in all competitions. Meanwhile, Haaland has already taken the world by storm after his performances for his club, Manchester City. Although Messi and Ronaldo still have a few years left in their careers, Mbappe and Haaland have already started to dominate the new era, and they are already threatening to break the records set by Messi and Ronaldo.
