Dani Alves is going through one of the worst phases of his life. The Brazilian has been convicted of r*ping a woman at a Barcelona nightclub and sent to prison for 4.5 years. His personal life is in shatters, with the 40-year-old’s wife looking to end their marriage. However, a recent piece of breaking news has concerned the Brazilian right-back’s fans. According to a Brazilian journalist named Paulo Albuquerque, Dani Alves has reportedly committed suicide inside his prison cell.

However, recent reports have denied such accusations. Dani is reportedly fit and fine and serving his sentence in a Spanish prison. Moreover, his entourage has reacted to the disgusting fake news spread by the journalist. Dani Alves’ agent has even threatened legal action against Paulo Albuquerque.
Brazilian journalist alleges that Dani Alves has killed himself
Paulo Albuquerque made the revelation via his X account. The journalist, who claims himself to be a fan of soccer, beer, and a lover of a beautiful woman, pranked the soccer world with his tweet. He wrote, “Information that reaches me is that Daniel Alves killed himself.” However, the world soon understood the motive behind Paulo’s tweet.
Most probably, the self-proclaimed journalist received a lot of flak from the X community and therefore made another tweet where he came up with a clarification. Paulo wrote, “Guys, for the love of God, what is this repercussion? I’m referring to my cousin Danielzinho from Nova Iguaçu who was missing, but they already found him alive.” The Brazilian gave the whole narrative a different picture.
Gente, pelo amor de Deus, que repercussão é essa?
Eu estou me referindo ao meu primo Danielzinho de Nova Iguaçu que tava sumido, mas já acharam ele com vida. https://t.co/x3TaBHKPRe

However, the journalist’s tweet had taken the soccer world by storm. Paulo’s tweet came at a time when reports of Dani Alves being depressed and suicidal had surfaced. Reportedly, Dani Alves had been placed in an anti-suicide program. His former cellmate had also revealed that the former FC Barcelona player was planning to flee to Brazil as soon as he was provisionally free.
Dani Alves’ brother and agent deny the rumors
The Brazilian soccer player’s brother looked quite emotional while talking about the suicide rumors. He reassured the soccer player’s fans that Dani had not committed a crime and was innocent.
Ney Alves spoke in an Instagram live (via Daily Mail), “He’s already been convicted. Is that not enough? Now the madness is people want him dead. They want to see my brother dead. How cruel is that! My dad is more than 70 years old and my mum is more than 60. Do people like this not have family?”
Dani Alves’ brother also put up an Instagram story where Ney wished good luck to his brother with his legal battles. The former Juventus defender’s lawyers have also been involved in the whole incident.
Another journalist named Mr. Felleger, who reportedly represents the 40-year-old, denied the suicide rumors and threatened Paulo Albuquerque of suing. He said on a Brazilian radio show, “The information was posted on X without any basis whatsoever. I spoke with Dani’s lawyer and this irresponsible person should be sued.”
The lawyer of Dani Alves has repeatedly denied the claims of the victims in the s*xual assault case and claims that the s*x between the victim and Dani Alves was purely consensual. Even then, Dani Alves has almost lost everything. His public image is in shambles, with his ex-wife enjoying life to the fullest while Dani Alves is rotting inside prison.
State prosecutors are reportedly looking to appeal to higher courts in the hope of a longer sentence for the Brazilian. It would be interesting to see how Dani Alves’ trial unfolds.
