PSG is finally suffering for their decision to let Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. leave the club. In what was a shocking decision, PSG agreed to part ways with Messi and Neymar. Till now, PSG hasn’t been majorly affected by Messi and Neymar’s absence on the pitch. However, the former PSG duo’s departure has finally come back to haunt the Ligue 1 giants.
According to reports, PSG has decided to end its six-year-long partnership with their kit sponsor Jordan. The deal turned out to be a massive hit with Jordan designing some of the most iconic kits for the French club.

Moreover, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr‘s presence provided a further boost to the club’s partnership with Jordan which was reportedly worth €67 Million or $73.4 million per season. Michale Jordan even earned a massive royalty of $7 million from the sale of Messi’s shirt alone. However, Jordan has decided to bring an end to their collaboration with PSG after the end of the 2025-26 season.
As per the reports, one of the primary reasons behind this decision is that Messi and Neymar’s absence has led to a massive drop in the marketability of PSG. Moreover, the club’s continued poor performances in the UEFA Champions League have also been identified to be another reason. Nevertheless, the end of PSG’s collaboration with Jordan won’t affect the club’s deal with Nike.
PSG president didn’t like Lionel Messi’s disrespect towards the club
In the meantime, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has opened up about Lionel Messi’s exit from the club. Despite a highly-anticipated arrival, Messi’s stint at PSG wasn’t exactly a success story. While the Argentine won two Ligue 1 titles in as many years, he failed to deliver in the Champions League. Moreover, he also rubbed off the PSG supporters in the wrong way and was often whistled and booed by the fans.

Responding to Messi’s accusations, Nasser Al-Khelaifi said, “We are a French club. I don’t want the whole stadium to be against him either. I think we have to respect that.”
Nasser Al-Khelaifi: “Messi is the best player in history. It was challenging for him to transition from Barcelona and come here all of a sudden. I have a lot of respect for him. The PSG president further rebuked the former FC Barcelona star for disrespecting the club. He said, “I don’t accept people speaking ill of Paris Saint-Germain. I want players to speak while they are at the club, not afterward.” However, despite his disagreement over Messi’s statements, Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed his admiration for the Inter Miami star and hailed him as the best player in soccer history.
