Vinicius Jr. grabbed the headlines after his hat trick helped Real Madrid to an emphatic 4-1 win against FC Barcelona. The Brazilian forward scored a first-half hat trick that practically sealed Real Madrid’s victory in the final. While Vinicius’ first goal was a work of art and his second a simple tap-in, his third goal came from the penalty spot.
The referee penalized FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo for fouling Vinicius inside the box. Despite the protests from the FC Barcelona players, the referee remained firm in his decision. However, just before Vini stepped up to take the penalty, he was spotted chatting with Robert Lewandowski. According to reports, Lewandowski tried to rattle Vinicius Jr. before the latter took the penalty.

The FC Barcelona forward allegedly asked Vini Jr., “Are you taking the penalty?” To which, the Brazilian replied, “Sure.” Lewandowski again retorted, “Take it then.” However, the Polish striker’s attempts to unnerve Vini went in vain as the latter calmly scored his penalty. Nevertheless, following the embarrassing defeat, the FC Barcelona players and head coach Xavi Hernandez will have a lot of thinking to do.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr. made a rather surprising confession after Real Madrid‘s Spanish Super Cup triumph. Despite scoring a hat trick, the 2022 Champions League winner once again got caught in controversy. In the 71st minute of the final, Ronald Araujo was shown a red card following a foul on Vinicius. However, following Araujo’s sending-off, the ex-Flamengo forward was spotted mocking the FC Barcelona bench.

I try my best to stay focused.” The 23-year-old further admitted that he is not a saint and often makes mistakes on the pitch. However, the Brazilian international did confess that he’s learning how to improve himself, both on and off the pitch.
