Soccer fans are a passionate bunch and they will go to any extent to cheer for their favorite stars. One of the biggest debates among the fans is on the topic of who the real GOAT of the sport is. While some made their case for Cristiano Ronaldo, others firmly support Lionel Messi. But, according to Jake Paul, Logan Paul, and KSI, Messi is the undisputed GOAT.
Although the debate is age-old, why are Jake, Logan, and KSI weighing in on the matter now? On December 18th, Argentina faced France in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final. Argentines lifted the cup after Lionel Messi scored 7 goals in the tournament, including 2 goals in the WC final. Although Messi and Ronaldo both had amazing club soccer careers, Leo’s World Cup win makes his career stand out even more.
As soon as Messi lifted the cup, Jake Paul sent out a tweet claiming that Messi is the greatest of all time. Not only did the 35-year-old score two goals in the final, but he also buried the ball into the net during the tie-breaker. So there is enough evidence to back up Jake’s claims.

YouTuber-turned-boxer, KSI stated that the match between the French team and the Argentine team was the best WC final of all time. Afterward, he also made the case why Lionel Messi is the GOAT over Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has never won a World Cup.
The debate is over people.
Boxer/pro wrestler Logan Paul also posted a picture of Messi and just added the caption, “THE GOAT?”

Lionel Messi wins the maiden World Cup trophy of his career
18th December 2022 will go down in history as perhaps the greatest day of Lionel Messi’s career. Although he has UEFA Champions League trophies, La Liga titles, and a Copa America trophy, Messi always wanted to get his hands on the World Cup. Although he reached the finals in 2014, Germany beat Argentina in the final and it crashed his dream of being a World Cup winner.

This was his last chance to win the cup and Messi fulfilled his dreams. He broke many records in the tournament. Messi became Argentina’s highest World Cup goal scorer with 13 goals and became the only player to have 26 appearances in the men’s World Cup. After Argentina’s win, the entire country celebrated all over the streets as the national team lifts the WC trophy only for the third time in their history.

Messi previously told that he wanted to retire from international soccer after the tournament. But, after lifting the cup, Messi stated his wish to continue playing for the national side. The Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni also stated that he thinks Messi should play in the 2026 World Cup as well and the no. 10 jersey will be available for him if Messi decides to do so.
