Soccer fans will be delighted to know that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will soon make his return to the AC Milan squad. The Swedish forward has been out of action for about seven months now. Zlatan announced at the end of last season that he will undergo surgery on his knee. However, as per recent reports, it is expected that Zlatan will soon feature on Milan’s team.
As per Daily Mail, Zlatan is expected to feature in Milan’s squad during their match against Torino tonight. Zlatan played an instrumental role last season when he helped AC Milan to win the Seria A title after 11 years. Zlatan scored 15 goals last season. AC Milan is feeling the absence of Zlatan in their team this season, as they are currently sitting in the 6th position in the Seria A table.
Zlatan recently talked about his comeback during an interview with Sport Mediaset. The former Barcelona striker said, “I’m still God, I’m still number one. Now let’s change the music when I get back. I really want to do many things, after what I have lost in these months. I wasted time. I’m fine, I’m very fine! I’ve returned to the group and I feel free, free on and off the pitch. It means I’m fine.“
Zlatan will be keen to make his comeback as soon as possible. Although Zlatan turned 41 last year, he is showing no signs of stopping. The Swedish talisman has still managed to keep himself in incredible shape. Zlatan has proven to be a key member of this AC Milan side, both with soccer talent as well as his professional experience of more than two decades.
AC Milan manager is waiting for the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic
AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is eagerly waiting for the return of his star man, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Pioli’s side hasn’t had the best of fortunes this season. From the 21 games that they have played this season, AC Milan has managed to gather only 38 points. However, Pioli has been questioned for leaving Zlatan out of AC Milan’s Champions League squad this season.
Addressing the questions, Pioli said, “Ibrahimovic has always been of great importance for this team. Unfortunately for him, the two games against Tottenham take place soon and right now we don’t know when he will be 100 percent. I hope with all my heart that he can come back soon. Few people would do what he’s doing to come back from such a difficult and complicated injury.“
Even Zlatan has received plenty of criticism during his absence from soccer. Responding to his critics, the former Manchester United star said, “It’s normal because if they don’t criticize you, you’re not at the top. They’ve been criticizing me for 25 years because I’m number one, I’m used to it.” Zlatan will be further looking to shut his haters down as he eagerly hopes for making his comeback to San Siro.
