The social media platform, X has suspended the official account of team Brighton and Hove Albion for unknown reasons. This has led to the fans speculating that this incident may be related to the consistent transfers with Chelsea FC.
Over the last two Premier League seasons, Brighton have completed many transfer deals with the London-based club. In the last month, goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez and midfielder Moises Caicedo left Brighton to join Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.

The two transfers combined cost more than $180 million. The fans started to crack jokes about how Brighton might have sold their X account to Chelsea as well.
Who are the players that moved from Brighton to Chelsea?
A string of transfers began between Chelsea and Brighton when left-back Marc Cucurella moved to Chelsea in July 2022 for $65 million. After Cucurella, Chelsea paid the Seagulls a whopping $35 million to sign coach Graham Potter and his coaching staff and replace Thomas Tuchel.
Graham Potter had a disastrous reign at Chelsea and was sacked within six months. He was replaced by Frank Lampard on a short-term deal, and then Lampard was succeeded by Mauricio Pochettino. Last year, Chelsea finished 12th in the league, while Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
In the ongoing summer transfer window, Pochettino signed goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez and then broke the British soccer transfer record for Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian midfielder moved to London for a transfer fee of more than $145 million. In a combined total, the Blues have paid Brighton more than $300 million in the two calendar years.

The soccer fans were on top of their meme game and found this amusing. The idea for the fans to connect the Brighton-Twitter suspension incident to Chelsea under the brackets of banter is even justified. Chelsea have been negotiating with Brighton for more than two years for multiple players.

It was not hard to understand why they connected the two things for fun. One fan joked “Chelsea have agreed a £50m deal with Brighton for their twitter handle. The handle is due to join Vitesse Arnhem on loan for two years.” The other added that ” Brighton’s Twitter has been suspended for robbing Chelsea“.
Is Chelsea the reason why Brighton’s Twitter Got Suspended?
The obvious answer is no. There has been no official confirmation on why their social media (X) account of Brighton got deactivated. It could be hacked, or suspended for failing to comply with the regulations.

Brighton: “15 million”

The entire soccer world does expect that the club gets back their account, and also expects formal communication from both parties on the incident. But fans still continue to speculate that the Blues are the reason behind this ban.
