At this moment Kylian Mbappe is one of the best soccer players on the planet. He is one of the most intimidating opponents one defender can ever face. Kylian has a tendency to make headlines through whatever he does. Yesterday, however, the Frenchman brought a smile to everyone’s face with his pledge to help the victims of the Turkish earthquake.
Over the past month, a large part of Turkey and Syria has seen the ultimate destruction of nature. On February 6 early morning, the southern part of Turkey and a large part of Syria were hit by a fatal earthquake. Back-to-back couple of deadly tremors of 7.8 and 7.5 magnitudes hit the countries massively. Rescue teams were sent almost immediately from the other parts of the country.
However, the damages were done and they were completely unavoidable. The neighboring countries offered their help, but the damage was already way too much. The rescuers worked out of their skin to rescue as many people under the rubble as they could but covering such a huge area was impossible. So far, the number of deaths has crossed a mammoth 50,000 people and it is still rising.

The soccer world could not survive this. Former Newcastle and Chelsea winger Christian Atsu was also one of the victims, who could not be saved from the wrath of nature. The 31-year-old Hatayspor forward scored a beautiful winning goal before the day of the earthquake. The soccer world is still very much in shock at the Ghanaian’s untimely demise.
Kylian Mbappe comes to Turkey’s aid after Lionel Messi
The face of the renowned UNICEF organization, Lionel Messi urged the world to actively help the affected people of Turkey and Syria. He said on his Instagram “These are very sad days for the thousands of children and their families affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria,” and prayed for their bad days to be over with.
Now, Lionel Messi’s teammate Kylian Mbappe has come with a pleasant surprise for the earthquake victims. Yesterday the 24-year-old Frenchman made a surprise appearance on @TRTspor and gave a heartfelt interview. The World Cup winner said, “This is truly a tragedy. It was probably too big for our imagination. I cannot guess what Turkey is going through,” at the beginning of his interview.

The PSG man pledged to be on the aid of the Turkish people. He promised to bring a smile to the children’s faces. Mbappe said, “I will use all the means at my disposal to help children. As someone who always tries to be helpful, I will do my best for Turkey as well. I think everything will be much better for Turkey. I hope we can make many children laugh again,” heartwarmingly.
The soccer world has praised the 24-year-old’s initiative to have given such a helping hand in their bad times. Mbappe also prayed for the people and said, “I cannot imagine the pain that the Turkish community and all the inhabitants can feel,” before ending his interview. He proved his worth as a real-life hero as well.
