What is the connection between Nations League and UEFA EURO 2024?
As per the regulations, three of the 24 places at UEFA EURO 2024 will be determined by play-off spots via the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League.
Twelve teams will be selected based on their performance in the 2022-23 Nations League. Especially, the group winners of Leagues A, B, and C. However, if they have already secured qualification, they will be replaced by the next best-ranked team in their respective league. But if there are not enough non-qualified teams in the same league, it comes down to the next league.
European Football’s governing body also revealed that it will revise the Nations League format for 2024-25, introducing quarterfinals and promotion play-offs to make it a more compelling competition.
