It has been widely reported in the media that Pele‘s medical situation has deteriorated since he was first admitted to the hospital. Earlier this year, the three-time World Cup winner was admitted to the hospital as he stopped responding to chemotherapy. The Brazilian was moved to palliative care after he complained about shortness of breath and pain. This development in his health came after it was reported back in 2021 that Pele had begun his battle with bowel cancer.

Pray for the King 👑🙏🏽🇧🇷 @Pele

— Kylian Mbappé (@KMbappe) December 3, 2022

Millions of fans had taken to social media to pray for the legend. The concern, however, was not just shared by fans but also by professional soccer players like Kylian Mbappe who appealed to the public to “pray for the king.” At that point, relief for the legend’s well-wishers arrived in the form of an update posted by Pele’s daughter, Kely. In this post, Kely reassured the fans that the measures were simply precautionary.

Now, however, Pele’s health has worsened.

Pele will spend Christmas in Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital

Kely Cristina Nascimento, Pele’s eldest daughter has once again offered an update on the Brazilian’s health. She had previously also provided an update which turned out to be a positive update. This time around, however, her words are anything but positive.

Pele’s daughter, Kely Nascimento, says he’ll spend Christmas in hospital. The Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein confirm Pele’s cancer has progressed and “requires greater care related to renal and cardiac dysfunctions”.

As per Ben Jacobs, Kely has said that the former Brazil forward will spend Christmas in the Hospital. Pele has been admitted to the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The hospital has broken the unfortunate news that Pele’s cancer has progressed.

Pele continues to put on a rather brave face. The Brazilian has been in the hospital since the last few days of November. His family has decided to spend Christmas day together in the hospital, with the legend.

Fans react to Pele’s daughter’s comment

While the 82-year-old and his daughter try to stay strong and battle cancer, fans have expressed concerns over social media. While most fans are offering their unwavering optimism, others are praying for the star’s full recovery.

Yeah but we still have to be optimistic regardless

Pele was light-years ahead of everyone and even to this day he is still the undisputed GOAT no matter wut the media bus says with their fake one in Messi who was coddled to the final.

Our prayers 🙏 @Pele

— Just another random person living in hope (@TheKingAuditor1) December 21, 2022

“We have to be optimistic,” one fan said after a fellow fan posted a negative comment.

“Pele was lightyears ahead of everyone,” said another, reminiscing Pele’s time as a player.

Most of the fans on Twitter have flocked together to offer prayers and words of optimism as they wish for news of the legend’s full recovery. They hope that he gets better and is discharged from the hospital soon.

When heart and kidney problems set in, there is no recovery. It’s time for dialysis to keep him alive.

— Gino ™ (@HPEmotionel) December 21, 2022

Hi, I have a vital prayer link that’ll help save Pele’s life. Please if you have his daughter’s twitter handle please share with me via DM and let’s help save a legend’s life, for what God cannot do does not exist!

— ‘Gboye(2Cor5:21 ) (@DaRighteous) December 22, 2022

“When heart and kidney problems set in, there is no recovery. It’s time for dialysis to keep him alive.”

One fan on social media reminded everyone that matters of the heart and those of the kidney are incredibly delicate, medically speaking. He then called for dialysis, a medical procedure that removes waste from the body when the kidneys stop working, to keep Pele alive.
