A woman recently filed a complaint of sexual assault against Brazilian soccer star Dani Alves. According to Agencia EFE, on the night between December 30 and December 31, Alves touched the woman under her underwear without her consent when she was with her friends at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona.
After the official complaint was lodged, Alves flew back to Mexico where he joined his current team, Pumas. From there, Alves responded to the claims. He said, “First of all, I would like to deny everything. I was there with my people. Enjoying. And everybody that knows me knows that I love dancing. I was dancing and enjoying my time without invading the space of others.“

Alves further said, “I don’t know who this miss is. I went to the bathroom and didn’t ask who was there, but I have never invaded someone else’s space. How could I do this to a woman? No, God, no.” Alves further requested everybody to stop spreading the rumors and the accusations as it was harming his family.
Dani Alves’ wife deletes her Instagram after sexual assault allegations against her husband became public
Following the sexual assault allegations against Dani Alves, his wife, Joana Sanz, has deleted her Instagram account. Alves, who has been married to Joana since 2017, denied the allegations leveled against him. The ex-PSG defender revealed that the allegations have deeply affected the people close to him. He said, “They are suffering, especially those closest to me. They know who I am.”
Alves, who is currently in Mexico, where he has joined Pumas’ pre-season training, might have to appear in a Barcelona court soon. The police officials, after taking the testimony of the alleged victim of this incident, have formally opened a case against Alves. It is expected that the police will soon process the complaint in court which might lead the court to subpoena Alves.
The court, however, might not choose to order Dani Alves to directly appear in a court in Barcelona. Instead, the former Juventus star may appear in front of the court through virtual means.
