‘Chicharito’ tore the ACL of his right knee in a US Cup Quarter Final game against Real Salt Lake. The 35-year-old looked devastated after the injury, as he knew that his season with LA Galaxy was over. Some even speculated that the injury might be career-ending.
But Javier Hernandez showed excellent mental strength to get back into action as quickly as possible. ‘Chicharito’ will make his much-awaited return to Chivas in 2024, 14 years after making his debut in club soccer with the same team. He reportedly denied offers from Europe, the MLS, and the Saudi Pro League to go back to his country.
Chicharito’s heartfelt conversation with Sir Alex Ferguson
Javier Hernandez burst onto the scene with Manchester United. He scored some very important goals for ‘The Red Devils’ and won two Premier League titles with the team. The Mexican gave his all on the pitch for the record English Champions and was a favorite amongst the fans. However, the one thing that stood out in him was his love for his manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
That is why when he inferred the fact that one of his most loyal players was fulfilling his dream, Sir Alex Ferguson could not help himself. He recorded a video of himself congratulating ‘Chicharito’. The Scottish manager said, “Chicharito. It’s your old boss here. First of all, I want to congratulate you on your return to your old club, back to Mexico, where it all started. Where I found you, signed you, and you were a great, fantastic player for us.”
Boss, there’s no words to describe how much you mean to me. Been able to say I was one of your players is one of my biggest achievements. THANK YOU!
And to my other family @ManUtd thank you for letting me be part of your history. Will love you forever. Once a red always a red.… https://t.co/UZXxZ9kSxc

While no dates have been officially confirmed from the club’s side, it is speculated that the club is all geared up to welcome its hero. An Article published in Diario AS stipulated that the club has planned a grand celebration at Akron Stadium. However, Javier Hernandez won’t be able to play from the get-go. The Mexican still needs some time to recover from his injury and the club wouldn’t want to take any risks with ‘Chicharito’, given his ripe age. Chivas is winless in their first two matches of the 23/24 Liga MX season and are 11th in the table. Therefore, the club would be hoping for Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez to come back as soon as possible and turn around their miserable start to the season.
