Georgina Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo are one of the most talked about couples in the soccer world right now. They have been dating for almost seven years now and are going strength by strength. However, is this Georgina Rodriguez’s first relationship? We sure know it is not Ronaldo’s.
Ronaldo was dating Russian supermodel Irina Shayk before he met Rodriguez. He started dating Shayk in 2010 and went on to date her for five years. They reportedly broke up under controversial circumstances. However, Ronaldo issued a positive statement.
“After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end,” he stated to the Associated Press. “We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now. I wish Irina the greatest happiness.”
Ronaldo was linked with numerous other women during his life before Rodriguez. However, no rumors about Rodriguez have ever been up in the air. This might be due to the fact that she was fairly unknown before meeting Ronaldo.
Little to nothing is known about Rodriguez’s dating life. However, back in 2021, Javier Pineiro spoke about his relationship with Georgina from many years ago.
Pineiro revealed the details on ‘Ilha das Tentacoes’, a Spanish reality show. He said, “We spent a lot of time together between the ages of 13 and 18. We ran in the same class for a year, and then, even though we were in different rooms, we kept the relationship”, as transcribed by JM Maderia.
According to reports, they are not in contact anymore. However, it is believed that Pineiro is still in contact with Rodriguez’s sister.
How did Georgina Rodriguez meet Cristiano Ronaldo?
Rodriguez was born in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. However, her upbringing happened in Spain, in the northeastern Spanish city of Jaca. It is said to be near the French border, around 450km from Madrid. Rodriguez was reported to have worked as a waitress in her hometown but she moved to Bristol at a young age.
Not much about her dating life has been out in public before she encountered Ronaldo on a faithful day. It happened in 2016 in a Gucci store in Madrid where she was working.
“His height, his body, his beauty caught my attention. I was trembling in front of him, but a spark ignited,” she said, according to AS.
“I am very shy and perhaps this stirred me more in front of a person who, with one glance, had touched me deeply. Then after, the way Cristiano treats me, cares for me and loves me did the rest.”
Since then, Ronaldo and Rodriguez have supported and been with each other happily. They are now completing around seven years with each other. The couple lives together in Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays soccer for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. They take care of five children together. All five are of Ronaldo’s. Two of them are Ronaldo and Rodriguez’s own children.
