Douglas Luiz has been mighty impressive for Aston Villa. The Brazilian has been the anchorman for the Villans in their midfield. His performances have attracted a lot of teams from the Premier League and abroad. The prospect of playing for some of the most elite teams in the world might be very exciting for Luiz. But, Aston Villa seems very protective of the 25-year-old.
Douglas Luiz has been one of the standout performers for Aston Villa, who are having a great 23/24 season. Luiz has outclassed some expensive midfielders in the League and would like to end the season on a high note. However, it is still unclear whether the Brazilian will end the season in the claret and blue colors of Aston Villa.
🚨 Aston Villa are ready to fight off any interest in Douglas Luiz next month, with the Brazil international valued at more than £100m.

His excellent performances have put Luiz on the radars of some European giants. Reportedly Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea are some of the teams interested in signing the Brazilian. These clubs have excellent financial backing and could lure him to leave Villa.
But, it seems Aston Villa has blocked any move for Douglas Luiz. The club is more than happy to have the Brazilian in their squad. According to a report published in the Daily Mail, Arsenal are the favorites to sign Douglas Luiz. The Gunners even had three bids rejected for the Brazilian in the summer of 2023.

The problem was with the valuation of the player, as the clubs could not agree upon a price. The London-based club valued Luiz at $27 million.
But Villa wants at least $100 million to sell Douglas Luiz. Douglas Luiz has even expressed his desire to stay at Villa Park by saying: “I am very happy to hear the stories but I am here at Aston Villa. My focus is totally here.
“I don’t spend a lot of time looking at the stories. I see them, but I don’t focus on that and I’m not looking at it every day. My head is here at Aston Villa.” Arsenal would have to dig deep in their pockets to land the Brazilian.
Aston Villa and Douglas Luiz are having a wonderful 23/24 PL season
Thanks to the individual performances and a genius coach in the form of Unai Emery has worked very well for Aston Villa. The Villans are 3rd in the league table at the end of matchday 16 of 23/24 PL season. The club from the West Midlands looks all set for a Premier League title race.
Aston Villa have won 11 games out of 16, accumulating 35 points in the process. The club has now won their last 15 PL games at home. The unbeaten run is the longest in the club’s 149-year-old history. Aston Villa has scored 39 goals in these games and has only conceded 7 goals, keeping 8 clean sheets.

Much of the credit goes to their talismanic coach Unai Emery. The Spaniard took charge from former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in the middle of the 22/23 PL season. Emery has since transformed the club into one of the best teams in England.
Unai Emery has won the highest number of home games (17) since taking over. While in terms of goals scored in the 23/24 PL season, Aston Villa (35) is third only to Liverpool (36) and Manchester City (38). The club has won 24 games in 2023 alone, only bettered by the 26 wins of Manchester City.
The partnership of Aston Villa and Unai Emery has delighted the club fans. Villa may qualify for the UEFA Champions League, in its current form for the first time in their history. It would be interesting to see where the club finishes at the end of the season.
