Argentina is currently celebrating its national team winning the World Cup. Lionel Messi led the way as they defeated France in a thriller to win the trophy. Although the Argentines are holding massive rallies to welcome the hero back to the country, a major tragedy almost ruined the entire occasion!
Team Argentina was part of an open hood rally as a part of the celebrations. Usually, when a team wins a major trophy, they usually go around their home country or province on top of an open hood bus to give the fans a close look at the trophy. So was the case after the Argentines won the FIFA World Cup 2022. They were taking the victory lap in Buenos Aires with the cup.
While the entire team was on top of the bus, a major accident nearly killed Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Nicolas Otamendi, and Leandro Paredes. As the bus was taking a turn, it was going through a passage that had some low-hanging wires. Messi, Di Maria, Otamendi, and especially Paredes were in danger of potentially getting electrocuted as they were on the roof of the vehicle.
Fans react to Lionel Messi narrowly escaping a big accident during Argentina’s celebrations
Lionel Messi just won the remaining trophy which was missing from his cabinet. Hence, it is obviously an occasion that he will celebrate for many many years to come. But, it all could have ended prematurely as he nearly lost his head to a thick electric cable. It naturally raises questions about the safety measures taken by the authorities. Fans could not keep calm and shared their frustrations.
¡CUIDADO CON LOS CABLES MUCHACHOS! Insólito momento en la llegada de los campeones del mundo a Argentina.

Argentina’s national team on an open-top bus with 5 players – incl. Messi – nearly getting wiped out by cables – this could have ended rather badly.
