Reportedly, Paris Saint Germain has Victor Osimhen as their priority signing to replace an outgoing Kylian Mbappe. According to the British journalist, David Ornstein, the Ligue 1 club has been preparing for Kylian’s departure since summer 2023. Paris Saint Germain has been working on possible replacements for quite some time to avoid any last-minute twists.
PSG is preparing for a huge summer 2023 transfer window. Kylian’s departure would clear the wage bill by a significant stretch and the club is looking to make good use of it. The club’s priority signing would be replacing Kylian Mbappe with an attacker. The Parisien club is also looking to bolster their midfield as well as their defense.
Osimhen has already identified his next club
However, there seems to be a problem in PSG’s pursuit of Osimhen. The Nigerian striker has revealed that he has already made up his mind regarding his next move. And the Napoli striker’s possible destination might not be what Paris Saint Germain desires.
He said in an interview, (via Goal) ” I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.” Even Napoli’s owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has agreed that the club has been preparing for the 25-year-old’s departure.
Victor Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli in December 2023, which includes a release clause worth $144 million for the summer of 2024. While this aspect might excite PSG fans, the Parisien club faces strong competition from England. Even, the 25-year-old has agreed that the fans expect him to join the Premier League and has some kind words to offer for the league.
