Cristiano Ronaldo went to a Rihanna concert in 2013. He was dating Russian model Irina Shayk back then. He was accompanied by his girlfriend as he attended the concert. Ronaldo had previously expressed his like for the Barbadian singer and model in the past. The then Real Madrid striker even had a meet up with Rihanna back stage after the concert was over.

The Portugese superstar subsequently took to Twitter to post a photo of the two in a good mood. Despite the fact that Ronaldo was dating the supermodel at the time, the photo fuelled conjecture about a possible romance between the two. As suspicion about the nature of their relationship arose, instead of denying it simply, the musical phenomenon implied that the former Manchester United player is homosexual.

The singer was asked If she and Ronaldo were romantically involved. Repling to this she said, “I have many gay friends and I support sexual diversity.” Rihanna’s reaction to the question concerning the nature of her connection with Ronaldo perplexed the player’s supporters, given the Portuguese was dating at the time. Despite the fact that he has now split up with the model, there has been no evidence that he is homosexual.
