Former professional soccer player from Argentina, Sergio Leonel Aguero del Castillo, better known by his stage name Kun Agüero, was a striker. He is regarded as one of the most outstanding attackers of his period and among the greatest Premier League players ever.
Aguero started his professional career at the Argentine team Independiente, where on July 5, 2003, at the age of 15 years and 35 days, he broke Diego Maradona’s 27-year record to become the youngest player who played in the Argentine Primera Division. Agüero became one of the most consistent players in La Liga when he went to Atletico Madrid in 2006 for a reported transfer fee of €23 million ($25 million).

In 2011, Aguero moved to Manchester City, a Premier League team, for an alleged £35 million ($44.3 million). He won five league titles in his ten years at the club, most notably his last-minute winner in his first season’s last league game, which gave the team its first league title in forty-four years. But after joining FC Barcelona, his career took a drastic turn when he experienced a Cardiac arrest and was advised to give up on the sport he loved.
What exactly happened to soccer star Sergio Aguero?
Aguero declared, at the age of 33, that he was hanging up his boots due to a cardiac issue. In 2021, during a La Liga match between Barcelona and Alaves, the striker experienced dizziness and chest symptoms that would ultimately be his last as a professional.
Barcelona announce Sergio Aguero has been admitted to the hospital for a cardiac exam after he was subbed off against Alaves because of discomfort in his chest.

He said, “I felt like I was drowning, I didn’t feel pain. I had a lot of pressure in my head. I figured it was because I was physically ill and I thought: ‘Shit, I’m so bad,’ I jumped for a header, they went to counter and I started to get dizzy, I felt like I was going to faint and I wanted to calm down.”
After leaving the Alaves game, Aguero was admitted to the hospital and Barcelona declared him out for three months. At a touching press conference later, he confirmed that he would be retiring. Since then, Gerard Pique, the former teammate of Barcelona, has allowed the striker to play again on the field, this time in the seven-side Kings League competition. Even Messi, a close friend of Aguero’s, has been urged to eventually join his squad.

According to PubitySport on social media, after Sergio Aguero made the admission that he was preparing to play soccer again, he made a live call to his cardiologist. His cardiologist advised him to “be ready” for the possibility of a return and that he would not have any issues playing for brief amounts of time at first.
Aguero is still involved with soccer and hopes to make a comeback to the pitch soon. He became a member of the Argentina team at their training camp before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he made sure he was present during their victory celebrations. Messi has also been persuaded to become a co-owner of Aguero’s KRU Esports team.
