Marcus Rashford who has been on a blazing run of form post the World Cup has recently been subjected to harsh criticism, not for his on-field actions but for his cryptic message on his Instagram account that has left fans asking what he meant by it. Man Utd star Rashford very recently uploaded an Instagram story that read: “Now it’s time to look forward and not back! Let’s go team @manchesterunited”.
Fans have been left in a conundrum as to what Rashford meant by this story and several fans raised questions about whether this was a message regarding Mason Greenwood. Mason recently had all charges dropped against him in an alleged r*pe case in which he was arrested last year.
Greenwood was charged with r*pe, assault, attempt to control, and coercive behavior by the Greater Manchester Police in January 2022 after some videos went viral over social media where his ex-girlfriend, Harriet Robson, could be seen injured and Mason could be heard assaulting her.

Mason was arrested soon after the emergence of the videos over and was suspended by Manchester United and had his sponsorship terminated with NIKE while he was also removed from FIFA. But the Crown Prosecution Service yesterday announced that they had dropped all charges against him as new evidence had come to light and several witnesses had withdrawn their statements.
The fans have been left in a confused state as they think that Rashford’s upload might be directed toward Mason. Rashford has been pivotal to the Red Devil’s resurgence post the World Cup and has been the highest goalscorer in Europe’s top 5 leagues ever since the world event commenced and won the Premier League Player of the Month award for January.
Fans react to Marcus Rashford’s Instagram Story
We went to Twitter to take a look at how fans reacted to Rashford’s cryptic message.
A fan was left questioning whether Marcus Rashford, who was honored with the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in 2020 by the U.K government for his food poverty campaigns, was supporting Greenwood.

Another fan sided with Rashford and believed that this message had nothing to do with Mason Greenwood and he was talking about his PL POTM award and how he wanted to only look forward and do good for his team.
They wrote: “I think he’s talking about how he won player of the month, and how he wants to keep his mind going forward. This quote is out of context. On Twitter he mentions it in reference to the past months games”

A fan once again raised the question as to whether Marcus Rashford was supporting Greenwood with this message and was asking fans to move forward and accept him or maybe he meant that Greenwood was no longer a part of the team, so the fans should forget him.
They wrote: “Is he saying forget about greenwood’s situation and move forward, or forget about greenwood and move forward? 🤔”

It seems like Marcus Rashford has landed himself in a tough spot with this message but it has to be given thought that having done so much for society, would Rashford be so negligible to speak like this on such a sensitive topic?
