The ‘Special One’, Jose Mourinho is one of the greatest coaches in the 21st century. He helped Porto win a Champions League, made Chelsea a dynasty, helped Inter Milan become the first Italian side to win the treble, and helped Madrid become one of the best teams in La Liga. Though after quite an average stint at Manchester United and Tottenham, the special one is back at his best at A.S. Roma.
Joining Roma in 2021/22, he guided them to their inaugural European triumph and steered them to last season’s Europa League final, which they lost controversially. During the Saudi migration, not only players but many managers recieved offers to move to Saudi for big-paying jobs. Notably, Al Hilal wanted to bringMourinho to their team.
After Roma’s bad start to the season, Mourinho said that he was not the problem as he could have left the club in the summer. He said –“During the holidays, I received the biggest and craziest offer a coach has ever received in the history of football”. Mourinho rejected the offer as he told the AS Roma board, fans, and players that he was going to stay beyond the season.
