The frontrunners in the Premier League, Manchester City, and Arsenal met for the first time this season in an FA Cup game at the Etihad which City won thanks to a brilliant finish by the Netherland International Nathan Ake in a game where both defenses showcased solid gameplay and stopped the opposition attackers.
Arsenal did create a few chances in the first half thanks to their latest signing, Leandro Trossard but the biggest chance that made fans go berserk fell to the City’s Norwegian superstar, Erling Braut Haaland. The former Borussia Dortmund striker was presented with an opportunity just outside the box with Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner way off the goal line.
Haaland tried to make the most of this opportunity to replicate Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Puskas-winning goal in 2014 against England. The Norwegian attempted the bicycle kick from outside his box and the ball was on target with the goalkeeper nowhere near his line but thanks to some smart defending by Takehiro Tomiyasu, Haaland couldn’t cash in on the opportunity to replicate one of his idol’s goals.
Fans couldn’t keep quiet after the video got viral and many started talking about Ibrahimovic’s sensational goal. They talked about how Zlatan’s memorable goal can’t be replicated because there is nobody else like him but at the same time agreed to the fact that Haaland is the closest one to him.
One fan wrote, “There’s only one Zlatan, but Haaland might be the closest one to him”

Another fan praised Haaland for his courageous effort and gave the credit to the defender Tomiyasu to read the play and act smartly to make the goal line clearance. He further mentioned that Zlatan scored a goal against a ‘terrible’ English defense back in 2012.
They wrote: “It was on target, that’s good enough for me, incredible defending though, watch closely, he reads Haaland and sprints quickly towards the goal. Remember guys Zlatan was playing against a btec England with a terrible defense.”
It didn’t take a minute for the fans be to pushed into nostalgia after Haaland attempted to replicate Zlatan, now let’s take a look at Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s sensational goal against England in 2012.
Remembering Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s incredible bicycle kick from 32 yards against England
Zlatan Ibrahimovic boasts of a showbiz career playing for the likes of AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, etc., and made sure that he won silverware everywhere across Europe. His character and attitude shadowed his brilliance on the field for most of his career which consists of memorable goals throughout.
But the one goal that is a step ahead of the rest was his brilliant bicycle kick goal from 32 yards out against England in a friendly game 10 years ago. He scored the goal against the Three Lions team managed by Roy Hodgson and helped Sweden win 4 goals to 2, scoring all four of the goals for his country.
England goalkeeper, Joe Hart was miles off his goal line when he tried to clear a long ball outside his box and the ball fell to Ibrahimovic who let himself fly from 32 yards out in a scene that could best be described as ‘magic’ and the ball ended up in the net and the whole stadium in Stockholm went berserk to celebrate a ‘once in a lifetime’ goal which was recognized by FIFA as well, awarding Zlatan with the FIFA Puskas Award for the epic goal.
