Starfield has been a big success for Bethesda, but it now has the lowest Steam rating of any Bethesda title ever. The game has a lot of enjoyable features, such as a shipbuilder and engaging gunplay, but not all player expectations were satisfied when it first came out in September.
Starfield, a long-awaited open-world space role-playing game from Bethesda, launched into space in the starting days of this month. It holds the record for Bethesda’s worst-reviewed game to date, ranking lower than Fallout 76.

Although it became Bethesda’s biggest game launch to date, the studio wasn’t expecting it to garner as much attention. The cosmic epic has now descended to a new low. With over 88,000 user reviews, the PC game’s rating reportedly has just decreased to 71%, with 72% of them being favorable. Even though this is by no means a poor rating, it does put the game on par with Fallout 76, the infamous black sheep of Bethesda.
Reportedly, the long-running series’ 2020 game has a score of 71.76%. It has consistently received the lowest ratings out of all the critically acclaimed games produced by the Xbox studio. Starfield has since replaced it in Bethesda’s history, but not for the reasons the game developer had planned.

Gamers are unsure if Bethesda can regain the magic that once made its products renowned as Elder Scrolls 6’s release date approaches. If Starfield’s contentious reception is a portent of things to come or just a hiccup in the road for the renowned game creator, only time will tell.
