Dana White gave an update on Cormier’s retirement. Daniel Cormier suffered a unanimous decision loss over Stipe Miocic at UFC 252 for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. It was billed as the greatest heavyweight fight in the history of the heavyweight division, Miocic triumphed over the former dual Champion. With the loss, Daniel Cormier ended his illustrious career with two back to back defeats in his resume. In the process, Stipe Miocic has cemented himself as probably the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. Miocic with this win is now a two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion having defended the UFC gold in both his title reigns. Miocic’s victory will go down as one of the greatest fights in the history of the heavyweight division. However, it will also act as a reminder of Daniel Cormier last fight inside the octagon.

In the lead up to the fight, Daniel Cormier maintained that this is the last fight of his career, and he wants to leave as a Champion. However, it was a bitter ending to Daniel Cormier’s illustrious MMA career.
Dana White feels Daniel Cormier is not retired
Cormier confirmed his retirement in the post-fight interview. Interestingly enough, he also added that he might make a comeback for a title match. Daniel Cormier wants a chance at a belt next. With no future opponent, it is time for him to retire from the sport. In the post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White revealed thoughts on Daniel Cormier’s future going forward.
“The guy has been the best to work with. he is easy. he wanted to fight everybody. he is willing to do anything. he is a great guy. He is a great ambassador of the sport. I think my saying he won’t retire is me kind of hoping he does not retire.” White added, “But whatever he decides too, I am happy for him.”

Daniel Cormier will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Cormier has notable victories Anthony Johnson, Stipe Miocic, Derrick Lewis, and many other top contenders. He has cemented himself as of the greatest of all time. Dana White revealed that he feels Daniel Cormier might make a comeback to finally bid farewell with a win on his name. Only time will tell if we will ever see Daniel Cormier again inside the octagon.
