On November 20, 2019, Williams made his high school debut with 41 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals in a 98-46 win over El Cajon Valley High School. He broke CIF San Diego Section single-game score record. Williams is considered a four-star recruit in the 2023 class by 247 Sports, ESPN.

Williams was born to Mahlon Williams and Charisse Williams. Williams has two siblings, Skye and Marvin. His father is an ex-basketball player and his mother used to play softball.
Williams played for San Ysidro High School. He started his career with his high school team winning against El Cajon Valley High School. In his next game, Williams scored 50 points against Mission Bay High School. He scored a career-high 77 points in a 162-52 win over Kearny High School. He broke the CIF San Diego Section single-game scoring record and set the freshman record for single-game scoring. As a freshman, Williams averaged 29.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game. Williams was named MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.
Williams played 119 games throughout his high school career with an average of 9.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.4 blocks.
