Carlos Alcaraz without a question has sprinkled more enthusiasm in the hearts of spectators than any young tennis professional with his terrific performances and the mere fact that his achievements at the age of 19 are just commendable.
Things have been going great for the young Spaniard and went even better when last year he emerged as the crowning champion of the US Open 2022, successfully earning himself the top ranking of the ATP charts i.e. world No. 1.
Entitled to far greater things, the 19-year-old, however, has been facing some physical injury issues lately which have left him running in circles into taking an elongated period of recovery to ensure he makes a comeback at his full potential.
Alcaraz most recently pulled out of the Monte-Carlo ATP 1000 Masters tournament which serves as the first clay tournament of the season due to severe injuries he is unable to neglect, forcing him to issue an official withdrawal statement.
According to his statement, the Spaniard is suffering from “post-traumatic arthritis in his left hand and muscular discomfort in the spine” which he was diagnosed with after he was ousted by his arch-nemesis, Jannik Sinner, in the semi-final of the Miami Open and returned to his hometown.
“After two months abroad, I am happy to return home but sad because I finished my last match in Miami with physical discomfort. After visiting my doctor in Murcia today and being evaluated, I will not be able to go to Monte Carlo to start the clay court tour. I have post-traumatic arthritis in my left hand and muscular discomfort in the spine that needs rest to prepare for everything that is to come,” quoted Carlos Alcaraz.

After ‘Tennis Majors’ asked Ferrero whether Carlos had picked up a hand injury during his semi-final match with Jannik Sinner in Miami, the 43-year-old refused to reveal any details quoting “I can’t comment on rumors related to Carlos’ physical shape,” leaving fans in the dark about whether the nature of his injury was severe or no.
