Serbian star Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He is an immensely skilled player, with 24 Grand Slam titles to show for it. However, Novak swapped his racket for a set of golf clubs recently.
The Serb appeared in an All-Star match, in the lead-up to the 44th Ryder Cup. It was an exhibition match, held at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome. Novak got the match underway by taking the first swing on the ball.
Djokovic was quite impressive with his hits and even copied Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siu’ celebration. At one point Djokovic managed to drive the green from an advanced tee and was dubbed ‘Shot of the Day.’ But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Novak, as he hit a few duff shots too. One incident in particular got laughs out of everyone, including soccer star Gareth Bale.

This hilarious incident happened about midway through the match. Novak whacked the ball into the bushes and then struggled to get it out from the rough.
Fans were in splits as the video clip of this funny moment surfaced on social media. One fan even commented, “It’s golf Nole, not gardening.” Here are a few reactions to the incident.

Greg Rusedski, the former world number four, hailed Djokovic as the best athlete in the world. Novak, created history when he won the US Open this month, his 24th Grand Slam title. And given his form, Djokovic might add a few more to his tally.
“Novak to me is the best athlete on the planet at the moment bar any sport. I don’t care what sport you are talking about. His consistency, what he is doing on the court and what he is doing at his age – nobody has done before,” he said (via Tennis365).
Novak Djokovic truly is one of the best in the world. He worked hard and made sacrifices to get to this point, and they have paid off. Novak is simply unmatched.
