Williams gave birth to her daughter Olympia Ohanian in 2017 and has since done everything in her power to keep her content. Moreover, the 41-year-old even retired from the sport in 2022 to be a better mother to Olympia and create lovable memories with her.
In recognition of Williams’ fame and reputed name in the celebrity world, attention can quickly catch one’s eye. Williams, in an interview on ‘The Ellen Show’ discussed how she withheld Olympia’s name in hopes of avoiding unnecessary attention.
Williams, in the interview, provided the tennis community with an insight into her daughter’s ambition. “Her ambition is playing princess games. The more we can play with princesses, that’s her whole life.”
After previewing Olympia Ohanian’s tennis videos, Williams was followed up by the show’s host Ellen DeGeneres. She asked the American the story behind not disclosing her daughter’s name to her coach. “I don’t have the patience to teach tennis, don’t like to play with people who can’t play tennis well. I signed her (Olympia) for a class with a private teacher.”
In addition, Williams also revealed that while recording her daughter’s tennis lesson on Instagram, a woman almost found out her identity. Gladly, the American was able to dodge that bullet and save herself a heap of attention from bystanders.
