Serena Williams’ journey towards embarking on an amazing career over the past two decades has been nothing more than remarkable and has successfully manifested her way through tough challenges from various athletes during her WTA competitive years.
The former world No. 1 who retired last year in 2022 to shift her focus more towards her family and daughter Olympia Ohanian, before closing in on her journey, collected 23 Grand Slam titles to her name and fell just one slam behind Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 championship titles.
Life has been treating the American legend well since she called in her retirement chit, and recently in an extensive interview with CBS Mornings, talked about topics surrounding her emotions following her walking away from professional tennis.
Serena Williams recently sat down with American TV personality Gayle King in her Florida farmhouse and had a brief discussion over various topics, including Serena feeling disappointed for not putting up a fair show at her last professional appearance.
The 41-year-old who competed in the US Open 2022 as a part of her final appearance in professional tennis stated that she was “not very happy” with her outcome in the championship and to date remains disappointed.
“I can’t believe I let that match go more than anything, obviously it was a great moment and memory I’ve never felt. I don’t feel like I’ve left anything but I just feel like what could have gone better that day,” added Williams to the conversation.
Despite the American icon’s disheartening concern for her final encounter in professional tennis, life seems to be running smoothly for her ever since she ‘evolved away’ from tennis.
