The shock came swarming within fans and the soccer world alike when the news of criminal charges against Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood, first surfaced.
The Manchester United forward was presented with heinous charges of rape and assault and has been benched ever since, however, most recently the authorities dropped all charges against Mason and the ruling gave no sense of satisfaction to Britain tennis professional Liam Broady.
The former Australian Open junior doubles champion expressed his disgust after the decision to discontinue charges against Greenwood broke the internet and asserted his opinion of wanting Greenwood to be permanently banned. Liam posted a tweet in reaction to the news and was devasted over the plight of the criminal justice system in the UK.
“Mason Greenwood should never be anywhere near a professional football club ever again. Just goes to show how inept the criminal justice system is in the UK. We’ve all heard the recordings,” added the tennis star in his tweet.

The Stockport-born player did not put brakes to expressing his dismay there as he further went on to criticize and uphold the authorities for dropping the charges.
In another tweet posted by Liam, he is seen quite perturbed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the chief public agency who are in charge of prosecuting criminal charges in England and Wales. He said, “Makes me sick for how this sort of a high profile case could affect other people suffering from abuse. CPS the richer you are the more you get away with. Broken system”

29-year-old Liam Broady’s recent performances in the ATP tour have not reaped many results. The Briton player has been unable to get past the qualifier round in the last two Grand Slams, namely, the US Open, and the Australian Open.
What’s the Mason Greenwood case?
Manchester United soccer player Mason Greenwood last year in October 2022 was arrested in connection with allegations pointing to severe charges of attempted rape, assault, occasioning actual bodily harm, and engaging in controlling behavior.
The report was first made on 22nd October 2021 and Mason was immediately suspending from play pending investigation. The report came in hand when the specialist rape prosecutors filed the charges after reviewing the evidence against the Manchester United star.
The charges filed against Mason also resulted in his removal from all active playing squads on FIFA 22, a game powered by Electronic Arts, and losing his sponsorship deal with Nike.

Nonetheless, the charges dismissed against Greenwood won’t make any difference as the Britain soccer professional as per the latest updates will not be reinstated in the Manchester United club and remains in the public eye for scrutiny in proportion to the evidence witnessed against him, accusing him of the crimes he now stands acquitted of.
