As the French Open is coming aching close with every passing day, many top tennis players are announcing their withdrawal from the competition. However, the most heartbreaking news came when Rafael Nadal confirmed that he won’t be participating in this year’s Roland Garros.
Amid all the saddening announcements, fans have been recalling the old times. A user took to Twitter to share a picture from May 2013. In the picture, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova were standing together in order to reveal their outfits for the upcoming clay-court Major.

People on Twitter were getting emotional recalling the good times when the ‘Big Three’ of tennis were fully-fit and ruling men’s tennis. On the other hand, the rivalry between Sharapova and Williams was also active. Unfortunately, no one from the four players posing in the picture would be present at this year’s French Open.

Rafael Nadal set to miss his first French Open after 2005 debut
A few days ago, Rafael Nadal announced that he won’t be participating in the year’s Roland Garros due to the hip injury he sustained at the Australian Open earlier this year. While playing against Mackenzie McDonald in the second round, the Spaniard’s injury flared and as a result, he lost the match.
He revealed in a recent press conference at his academy that the injury hasn’t been improving in a favorable manner. Thus, he is thinking of making a much-awaited return at the Davis Cup next year.
Not only Rafael Nadal, but Andy Murray will also be missing the French Open because he’s focusing on Wimbledon, where he thinks he can have a deeper run. Another name that will be missing on the clay-court Major is Nick Kyrgios.
