Nick Kyrgios pulled off some extraordinary showmanship in his Australian Open first-round victory over Liam Broady. He celebrated by drinking a fan’s beer and copying Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Aussie had been In a serious doubt to play at all at Melbourne Park after he recently tested positive for Covid-19.

Kyrgios certainly turned up in what was an electrifying performance on the court and with plenty of antics on the side.
Nick is one of the most dynamic players on the court. At the same time, he has an eye catching fashion statement off the court.
Nick Kyrgios To Bring New Fans To The Tennis Court
In a recent interview with the Australia Open channel, Nick Kyrgios talked about his on court fashion game.
He talked about his previous style statement when he used to wear headbands and bandana around his head.
Nick said, “I used to wear a lot of headbands… but I kind of can’t play with anything on my head these days… but I think, if I had my way on court I would wear some pretty cool stuff.”
If given a chance, he would like to wear his own gear on the court. It might be a little difficult with all the sponsorship deals but the fans would love to experience Kyrgios’ own gear on the court.
“Tennis needs new fans… they’ve had the same fans for decades now…. They need fans to turn on the TV that have never watched tennis before and be like ‘wow,’ look what that guy is wearing or look at how he’s playing the game. I think that’s what it needs.”
Kyrgios Wants To Face Roger Federer In His Own Fashion Gear
Nick Kyrgios wants to play the Swiss legend Roger Federer again. He wants to play him wearing his own gear.
He said, “If I played Federer again, I would love to choose my own wardrobe. When people watching on TV, like Federer, you already know that he’s clean cut, he’s very classy and then you’d have me on the other side of the net… I’d be wearing things that are a little bit more different.”
Nick did not play any warm-up tournaments like the Sydney Tennis Classic before the Australian Open because of Covid.
However, he has fully recovered before the Australian Open and is all set to play Daniil Medvedev in the second round. He defeated qualifier Liam Broady to advance into the 2nd round.
