SUMMARY
- Novak Djokovic has put his Australian Open loss behind him, taking to the mountains to ski in his downtime.
- Since it is one of Jannik Sinner's favorite activities, fans wish to see them both skiing together.
Novak Djokovic kicked off his season on national duty for Serbia at the United Cup. He went into the Australian Open as the defending champion, with his eye on a record eleventh title. Novak was on his way too, but Jannik Sinner put a stop to the Djokovic juggernaut in the semifinals. And now, the Serb is off to the mountains, doing the one thing his Melbourne victor loves—skiing.
Djokovic is currently in Italy, enjoying his downtime after his crushing defeat in Melbourne. He took to social media to share photos of himself decked up in skiing gear at the Val Gardena Ski Resort.
Novak can be seen wearing an olive-green puffer jacket and holding onto a pair of skis by his racket sponsor Head. He boasted of clocking a new Super G record on the World Cup ski slope. “New super G record of the World Cup Ski slope,” he wrote in the caption.
Would be nice to have Jannik and nole skiing together some day! https://t.co/JBC1rFeUyQ

In addition to tennis, Sinner loves to ski as well. His parents worked at a ski lodge, and Jannik grew up getting acquainted with the mountain slopes. Now, fans wish to see Jannik and Novak skiing together someday.
Djokovic and Sinner have forged an incredible rivalry, especially in the past few months. Sinner has defeated the Serb in their last three encounters out of four, including the Australian Open. Jannik simply outplayed Novak in every way in Melbourne last month.
Novak Djokovic has big plans for himself, especially with the Olympics this year. Even though Sinner derailed his efforts in Australia, Djokovic will be back to compete at Indian Wells. The Serb will look to consolidate his record in California next.
How many times has Novak Djokovic won Indian Wells?
Novak is set to compete at Indian Wells after five years. The world No. 1 has won the title five times so far—a joint record with Roger Federer. The Swiss ace has retired from the sport, but Novak has the perfect chance to win another title in California. Novak even defeated Federer twice in the finals.
Novak won the title for the first time in 2008 when he defeated Mardy Fish 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. He repeated this feat in 2011, when he defeated Roger in the semifinals. Djokovic faced Rafael Nadal in the final and ended up defeating the Spaniard 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
Between 2014 and 2016, Djokovic won the trophy in three consecutive years. He defeated Roger in the finals in 2014 and 2015, and finally Nadal in 2016.
Novak Djokovic will try to get his career back on track in California next month. He will leave behind his failure at the Australian Open and focus on what lies ahead.
