Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. If we look at the best rivalries to have ever happened in the history of the Open Era in Tennis Grand Slam Titles, then only these two names pop out.
Even though both these tennis stars are still extremely capable to win titles as proven by Nadal in the AO 2022 Finals, in their prime they were unstoppable.
The matches between Nadal and Federer were a treat to watch especially since both their techniques were in contrast. Roger Federer relied more on his techniques to get better of his opponents whereas Rafael has the sheer power in his serves which I am sure gave nightmares to his opposition.
Federer has been out of play ever since he was struck with a knee injury way back in July 2021. However, to surprise the fans Roger Federer will be teaming up with his rival and a good friend Rafael Nadal in the upcoming Laver Cup.
A Fedal Comeback.

“A Truly Special Experience” – Rafael Nadal on Pairing up With Roger Federer for the Laver Cup
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will be representing Team Europe in the upcoming Laver Cup which would be held from September 23rd. Roger and Rafael have previously teamed up in the first Laver Cup in 2017. It is worthwhile to know that the Laver Cup is organised and founded by Federer’s Management Company. Roger Federer was quite a bit excited with the prospect of teaming up with Rafael Nadal he said,
“I’m Really Looking Forward to Getting Back Into Competition Later This Year, and Laver Cup Is Very Much Part of My Plan,”
Nadal was also interested in having Roger Federer as his teammate and said,
“If We’re Able to Possibly Share the Court One More Time as a Doubles Pairing, Then This Would Be a Truly Special Experience for Us Both at This Stage in Our Careers,” Nadal said.
This would be the Fifth Laver Cup to be organised. Roger and Rafael did not participate in the 2021 Laver Cup.
