Danish player Holger Rune is one of the most promising players on the rise. Even though Rune is young, he expects a certain level of dedication from himself and his team. When his requirements are not met, Holger has no qualms about replacing them. With the recent announcement that Rune would team up with Patrick Mouratoglou again, his former coach, Boris Becker, finally spoke up.
Holger has garnered a reputation for replacing his coaches at the drop of a hat. When the Dane lost his rhythm in the second half of the season in 2023, he brought on Becker. The partnership paid off, and Holger started to soar once more under the German’s tutelage.
Unfortunately, this partnership did not last long, as Boris announced that he would be stepping down from the role of Holger’s coach. In a bizarre turn of events, Holger has now hired Mouratoglou for a third stint with his team. Given the news, Becker took to social media to send Rune his best wishes.

Rune started the season with both Becker and Severin Luthi on his team. Luthi had been Roger Federer’s coach for 15 years but departed shortly after the Australian Open. Becker’s departure was the most shocking because they were supposed to work together all season.
Rune was working with Kenneth Carlson for the time being, until he announced his reunion with Mouratoglou. The two had parted ways after Rune crashed out of the US Open last year.
Holger Rune won the Paris Masters under Patrick in 2022. However, the Frenchman has been embroiled in Simona Halep’s doping controversy. This partnership has raised concern among Rune’s fans.

Recently, Sara Maria Popa, a former player from Patrick Mouratoglou’s academy, shed light on an alarming issue. She mentioned how youngsters were given performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) at the academy.
Moreover, Mouratoglou’s team was responsible for the contaminated collagen Halep consumed. With this in mind, some users tried to caution Holger. The Dane put these concerns to rest by stating that his mother would be monitoring everything.

The controversy aside, Holger Rune will hope for results under Mouratoglou. He crashed out of Rotterdam against Alexander Shevchenko. Hopefully, he will hit his stride under Mouratoglou very soon.
