Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic’s relationship as rivals and friends have seen enough ups and downs over the years. After some heated moments on and off the court in the past, the two are currently strong friends.
The Australian tennis star recently shared a story on Instagram of his private chat with Djokovic. Kyrgios shared a story on Instagram where he is seen bouncing the ball multiple times before taking the serve. Kyrgios is known for taking his serves quickly. However, Djokovic is the polar opposite.
Reacting to the video, Djokovic wrote to Kyrgios on personal chat asking if the Aussie was trying to imitate him. To this Kyrgios replied, “Hahahahahahahaha. That’s so funny. Yours is WORSE. MATE YOU TAKE 47283728 hours to serve.”
To everyone’s surprise, Djokovic agreed and said, “Hahahahhahaha true. Sometimes, not always. Need to work on your supersonic speed routine.” Kyrgios shared the screenshot of this conversation as an Instagram story. Furthermore, he wrote, “Honestly I never thought I’d be having convos like this.” Considering how the two have taken shots at each other in the past, their recent friendship has come across as a surprise for tennis fans.
Nick Kyrgios is hoping that Australia will allow Novak Djokovic to play in Melbourne
The Australian Open will kickstart the 2023 season in Melbourne but there is a lot of build-up regarding Djokovic’s participation in the tournament. Last year, the Serbian was not allowed to participate as he refused to take the COVID vaccine.
Kyrgios is hoping that Djokovic will get to participate in the Australian Open in 2023. Moreover, he said, “He’s had a rough run the last nine months and not being able to play here, play here, not being able to play here, hopefully, Australia welcomes him with open arms this time.”
As per Djokovic, the fans might see him in Melbourne this year. His team is constantly following up with the authorities in Australia and is expecting positive news before the tournament.
