The tennis career of Venus Williams has been nothing less than stellar. She became a top star in the world of tennis at an early age and was also successful in keeping her crown safe for a commendable number of years.
The American has flabbergasted numerous opponents on the tennis court, however, this time, the seven-time singles Grand Slam winner has surprised her fans with her views on weddings and getting married.
In an interview with Coach Eric Hechtman, where a lot of topics were being discussed, Williams didn’t hesitate to talk about her take on marriage. She said that her niece recently got married, and it was a lovely wedding as everyone did a great job with the planning part. However, Williams feels like she won’t be able to compete properly if she gets married.
“Okay well, we had a wedding here. Recently my niece got married here at the farm and lovely venue. It was the world’s best wedding and everyone did a great job planning it. I can’t compete with that like if I ever got married it would be at the courthouse um I don’t have the courage. I can’t even explain why I just know I don’t like them,” said Venus Williams.

In her professional career, Venus Williams has triumphed 21 Grand Slam titles and she’s still going strong on the tennis court at the age of 42. However, her fans might be surprised to know that she’s currently single.
Williams once confirmed that in an Instagram Live, where she responded to a fan questioning about her love life. She said that numerous individuals have asked her to go on a date but she’s not interested in all the invitations.

“Lots of people asking me to go on a date. I’m just not. I would say, ‘I’m undateable.’ That’s OK, I’m happy.” Williams said on Instagram Live.
However, the American has dated a couple of times before. In 2017, Williams started dating millionaire Nicholas Hammond, but their relationship was short-lived as they announced their break-up in 2017.
Before dating Nicholas Hammond, the five-time Wimbledon champion was in a relationship with pro golfer, Hank Kuehne between 2007 and 2010. Moreover, it’s also reported that Williams was romantically involved with Cuban model Elio Pis in 2012. Most recently, she was rumored to be dating a fellow tennis player, Reilly Opelka.
