Stefanos Tsitsipas is striving to secure his first Grand Slam victory at the Australian Open. The Greek has already experienced a heartbreaking loss to Novak Djokovic at the French Open finals. However, Tsitsipas has a hidden advantage this time around, in the form of his girlfriend Theodora Petalas.
Theodora Petalas was born in Greece but currently resides in London as a junior strategist for a branding and marketing agency. Prior to shifting to the UK, she was living in the United States, where she gained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in project management and technology from New York University.
In 2021, Tsitsipas declared that he and Petalas had been seeing each other for two years. It is believed that they were introduced through mutual friends in New York.
The tennis star confessed that he had feelings for Petalas two years ago when they were both in New York, and he asked her out on a date. He took some photos that remain his favorites today. But, the relationship is long-distance since Petalas lives in London.
He said: “It’s a little difficult for us because she lives in London. But thankfully it hasn’t brought us to extremes. She comes to some tournaments to support me and so we can spend some time together. Petalas currently holds a position as a research analyst at one of the top five beauty and wellness market intelligence agencies. Additionally, she works as a Marketing Communications Specialist for More Than Health AG. In the past, Petalas worked as a junior strategist for a branding and marketing agency called Outfly in London. She has also lived and worked in New York.
Petalas began her professional career as a Global Communications and PR Intern for fashion designer Oscar de la Renta.
